Sausagefest Food Holiday

August 12th is National Julienne Fries Day, which begs the question “Why do Julienne and her fries get their own National Food Holiday?” My brain got a little “fried” just reading about all the different types of french fries.

You’ve got to hand it to that Julienne — she must have been one heck of a go-getter and a savvy marketer. She wouldn’t accept being lumped together with the likes of curly fries, disco fries, poutine or even bistro fries, which are all celebrated on National French Fry Day. No, she demanded her own holiday. She also made sure to celebrate it in August, long after people had forgotten all about National French Fry Day. Well played, Julienne!
